Robert Edward Lee

Lakeside resident Robert Edward Lee died November 23 at his home with family members in attendance.

pg22Born December 29, 1934 in Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada, he attended school in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan and Campion College in Regina, Saskatchewan, before going on to the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where he graduated with a law degree in 1959.

Robert worked as a lawyer in Regina from 1959 to 1965. In 1962, he married Elizabeth Fisher in Regina. He was appointed as a judge to the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan in 1965 and served until his retirement in 1996.

The Lees took up residence in the Lakeside area in 1999.

Robert was a member of the Knights of Columbus (4th degree). He will be remembered for his love of sports, travel, history and art.  He was an avid golfer who had been a member of the Lake Chapala country club since 1998.

Robert is survived by Elizabeth, his wife of 56 years, daughter Margaret and sons Dan (Lori) and James, as well as grandchildren Erin and John Lee.

There will be funeral services held at San Andres church in Ajijic, Sunday, December 2, 9 a.m. An adios party will be held at the Chapala Country Club on December 2.
