The bilingual San Miguel Writers’ Conference and Literary Festival, dedicated to fostering literary connections between Mexico, the United States and Canada, will celebrate its 20th anniversary from February 12 to 16 at the Hotel Real de Minas in San Miguel de Allende.
Among the seven keynote speakers is acclaimed U.S./Canadian author John Irving, known for 16 celebrated novels, including “The World According to Garp,” “A Prayer for Owen Meany” and “The Cider House Rules.”
The festival offers a wide range of activities, including book readings, author panels, literary workshops, a writing contest and cultural performances. It attracts a diverse audience of both local and international attendees, including prominent authors, established and emerging writers, publishing professionals, educators and avid readers, primarily from the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Susan Page, the festival’s founder and president, says: “We have had a phenomenal roster of world-class writers and publishing professionals visit us in San Miguel over the last 19 years, and 2025 is shaping up to be one of the best editions we’ve ever had.”
