Tonala takes first steps to revamp image

Strollers along Tonala’s Calle Santos Degollado can now admire a series of striking sculptures created by local artists.  The project is part of  Mayor Jorge Arana’s “Tonalá Pueblo Museo” program to turn the crafts center into a “living museum.”

Lopez Mateos reopens with new surface

The central lanes of a section of Avenida Lopez Matoes reopened to traffic this week, three days ahead of schedule.  Resurfacing work over the past month on a one-kilometer stretch of the avenue between Copernico and the Periferico has caused long delays, especially at peak times.  Even with the reopening of the lanes overnight on Monday, a long tailback of vehicles traveling into the city still formed the following morning.

Subway riding made easier for people with disabilities

In catering to persons with disabilities and reduced mobility, Guadalajara’s Tren Ligero line has stolen a base on subway networks in the likes of New York, London and Paris.
New infrastructure for people with disabilities was unveiled this week at stations on the Linea Dos route running from Tonala to the Parque Revolution.
