Downtown Guadalajara videomapping

Crowds flock to the Guadalajara city center to see videomapping on the Metropolitan Cathedral but are unaware that the Santuario de Guadalupe (left) on the Alcalde walkway is also illuminated in this way. GDL’s housing plan promotes urban renewal

In response to the growing housing crisis, the Guadalajara city council, led by Mayor Verónica Delgadillo, has launched the  Vivienda para Vivir Bien (Housing for Living Well) strategy to repopulate the city and address housing affordability. 

Local cops heighten skills from US instructors

The United States, through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), this week hosted training for 40 Zapopan police officers—along with officers from Guadalajara, Nayarit, Colima and Michoacán—in firearms and explosives detection.

Guadalajara drenched and disabled

A torrential downpour hit the Guadalajara metro area on Tuesday, marking the heaviest rain of the season and triggering flash floods that brought large sections of the city to a standstill.  Multiple roads and underpasses were inundated, and dozens of cars were stranded and even swept away by the current in several parts of the city.
