The nuns and some of the children who live at Villa Infantil Nuestra Señora Guadalupe y San Jose in San Pedro Tesistan visited the English-speaking congregation at San Andres church in Ajijic last week to thank the parishioners for their support with Christmas presents and ongoing support from their outreach program.

Steve Cross and Fernando Gomez (far right seated) took the whole gang from the Lakeside School for the Deaf to the movies on January 8. The School for the Deaf is just one of the charities that the owners and operators of Casa las Flores B&B support regularly.

The Jalisco Secretariat of Culture donated these railroad ties to be used for the bed of the garden railroad donated by the Shrine Club. It will be presented during the memorial service for David Netherton who put the Shrine Club in charge of its installation. The service begins at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 20 at the old train station in Chapala.

Memorial Service

A memorial service for the late David Netherton, the Chapala Garden Railway builder, will be held at the Centro Cultural Gonzalez Gallo museum (the old Chapala Railway Station) on Sunday, January 20 at 2 p.m.
