2nd dog park opens in metro area

A second site-specific space for dogs has opened in the Parque Gonzalez Gallo (Av R. Michel and Calle Salvador Lopez Chavez). The enclosed “theme park” includes a range of games and materials designed exclusively for canines, including tubes and jumps.

The park is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and will have a supervisor from Guadalajara’s Centro de Control Animal on-site in the afternoons.

On their initial visit to the park, owners must bring their dog’s vaccination certificate and register with the supervisor.  After that they are free to come and go at will.  Owners are instructed to bring bags to collect their pets’ excrement.

The park has bathrooms, water fountains and green areas for general use.

Guadalajara’s first exclusive dog park opened in the Parque Italia in Colonia Providencia in October 2011.  It is located at the corner of Avenida Montivideo an Calle Milan.  The same regulations apply at both spaces.
