Family members and friends of Wendy Sánchez Muñoz, the 32-year-old artist from San Francisco (San Pancho), Nayarit, who disappeared while driving to Guadalajara on January 9, erect a floral monument to their missing loved one at the Glorieta de Las y Los Desaparecidos (Niños Heroes) last weekend.
Sánchez’s family have worked tirelessly through social media and other means to gather any information about their relative.
But like thousands of other families with missing relatives in Mexico, they have mostly come up against brick walls, not helped by a hopelessly inadequate criminal investigation system.
