A short-lived cloudburst was no deterrent for the “No Kings” rally held in Ajijic on Saturday, June 14.
Democrats Abroad Lake Chapala (DALC), along with chapters across Mexico, joined forces with other activist organizations both within the United States and globally to sponsor this day of action. The rally was part of a worldwide mobilization aimed at protesting U.S. President Donald Trump’s monarchical-style governance.
According to event organizers like Indivisible, over five million people gathered at 2,100 No Kings rallies worldwide to express their opposition to rising authoritarianism and corruption under the Trump administration and to stand up for democracy.
