Several hundred Chapala area expats paused this week to honor veterans of the armed services at ceremonies commemorating the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice ended the bloody hostilities of World War I.

November will give Guadalajara plenty of opportunity to indulge its huge appetite for opera at the opulent Teatro Degollado, with three full productions sprinkled liberally throughout the month, two including dance. 

Dozens of businesses in the Guadalajara metro area will be offering discounts of between 10 to 50 percent throughout the fourth edition of El Buen Fin, Mexico’s equivalent to Black Friday, which takes place from Friday, November  14 to Monday, November 17 (a holiday marking the Mexican Revolution).
