The Meaning of Discipleship. “Disciple” usually brings to mind the 12 men Jesus called, all recorded in the Bible. But disciple only means “learner” or “student.”
To mark International Day of the Girl, the Lake Chapala branch of the worldwide Days for Girls (DFG) movement offered a presentation to update volunteers and supporters on the expansion its local activities that have served more than 1,600 young women over the past three years.

Shabbat Torah services are held the first and third Saturday of the month, 10 a.m., and Shabbat evening services and potluck every second and fourth Friday, 6 p.m.
Members of the Lake Chapala Jewish Congregation will joyfully celebrate the gift of their new Torah on October 22.
