The Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra (OFJ) will open 2022 with a special concert featuring a program of popular waltzes, polkas and classical marches in PALCCO’s Sala José Pablo Moncayo on Sunday, January 30, 12:30 p.m.

After a successful Ajijic debut in early October, the young students who make up the Virtuosi Guadalajara string orchestra are returning to Lakeside with a new program featuring works by English composers Benjamin Britten and Peter Warlock, as well as Bach’s timeless classic, the Brandenburg Concerto #3 for String Orchestra.

The final program of the season sees two OFJ ensembles interpreting “The Quartet for the End of Time” by Olivier Messiaen and “Quinteto Instrumental” by Heitor Villa-Lobos.
It isn’t that Guadalajara’s Instituto Cultural Cabañas never includes non-pictorial art among the four or five shows that it typically exhibits simultaneously.

In Program 7 of the winter season, the orchestra interprets works by Bizet, Debussy and Tchaikovsky. Jesus Medina conducts.
