Lake Chapala Society releases AGM agenda

The Lake Chapala Society (LCS) has released the agenda for its Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled for Wednesday, March 19. The meeting will take place both on-site at LCS and via Zoom.

pg11bLCS President Yolanda Martínez Llamas will call the meeting to order at 10 a.m. A second call, ensuring quorum requirements are met, is set for 10:30 a.m. In the interim, new LCS Executive Director James Burns will present a special information session.

Once the meeting officially begins, Martínez will read the Order of the Day and oversee the adoption of the agenda.

Reports & key discussions

• Secretary George Radford will present the official minutes from the 2024 AGM and the August Extraordinary Meeting.

• President Yolanda Martínez will deliver her annual report.

• Outgoing Treasurer Timothy Boardman will present and seek ratification for:

- The 2024 financial report

- 2025 budget projections

- The 2024 external audit report

- Selection of external auditors

- Membership categories and dues

- The LCS reserve fund

• Board Member Steve Balfour will provide an update on the Concerts in the Park series.

Board elections & other business

The LCS Nominating Committee will oversee the election of board officers and directors-at-large. A list of registered candidates will be announced in advance, and additional nominations may be made from the floor.

Following this, the agenda includes: granting of powers of attorney, an update on the LCS 2.0 development program and approval of the 2025 AGM minutes, before adjournment.

Voting privileges are reserved for members with current LCS memberships. Guests may attend as non-voting observers.
