Eckankar
Everything revolves around love. It always does. No matter how much we rush about in this world and how harried, ambitious, or sorrowful we become, the world stays together for some reason. The reason is God’s love. It makes the whole work, even though sometimes it looks like nothing is working at all.
The two supreme laws are: God is love, and Soul exists because God loves it.
But how do you make this work out in everyday life? Whenever you’re in doubt about any action, ask yourself: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it Kind? You can also ask, What would love do?
Everyone has some experience with love—even a child who has a pet kitten or a dog. Soul is trying, to give back or respond to God’s love that’s coming through. (The above text is from Spiritual Wisdom on Relationships by Harold Klemp.)
Meet with other like-minded Souls for open non-denominational spiritual discussions Tuesdays, 2 to 3:15 p.m. at the Lake Chapala Society.
Heritage Baptist Church
Jesus burst out sobbing as he lamented the lost city of Jerusalem before going down to his death. As perfectly man and perfectly God, his love manifests on both levels—earth and heaven. He had a particular love for sinners, held one desire for them, and holds it still: that they might one day accompany him to eternal bliss.
The Son of Man did not come to destroy lives, but to save them. His love that was nailed to the cross is the exact same love that he shows to sinners today. And His desire to return the lost to heaven is of eternal proportions. Christians, do we have a heart for the lost and perishing, as Jesus did? He knew the worth of these souls. They were worth the whole of creation.
The earth is filled with the steadfast love of the Lord. Believer, are you moved to tears by the danger of the lost? Unbeliever, plead for salvation and unburden your soul in Christ’s unquenchable love!

Lake Chapala Baptist
Life on earth is temporary, but God offers us something far greater, eternity with Him. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
Through Jesus’ resurrection, we are promised a future beyond the grave, where pain, sorrow, and death will be no more. In eternity, we will receive glorified, imperishable bodies and dwell in perfect communion with God forever. “And so we will be with the Lord forever” (1 Thessalonians 4:17).
This is the hope of every believer: an everlasting life of joy, love, and peace in God’s presence. All creation longs for the day when His kingdom is fully revealed, and those in Christ will reign with Him forever. Will you choose the fleeting things of this world, or will you embrace the gift of eternity with the One who loves you endlessly?

Sunday, March 9, 10 a.m., the sermon title is “Vision of Evenings and Mornings” from Daniel 8.
Biblical prophecy is difficult. We want to know what’s going to happen, but things are clear only in hindsight. Jesus had to explain the Old Testament prophecies that pointed to him. In Pastor Carolyn’s sermon on Daniel 8, we find a prophecy that was fulfilled in 168 BC. Why does that interest us nearly 2,200 years later? Because we can see that the same prophecy was fulfilled again in 70 AD, and will be once more at an unknown future date. We need to be ready.

Common Ground Fellowship
One would be naïve to say that these are not troubling times, but still, there is joy to be found. But where do we find this elusive thing called “joy?”
The Apostle Paul was one of the top lawyers in all of Israel, having studied under, arguably the best attorney in the nation. He was a Roman citizen, a gifted writer, easily one of the most accomplished individuals of his generation.
But Paul took no joy from his accomplishments.
Yet still he did know joy.
Where did this joy, then, come from?
Join us this Sunday as we study Philippians 3:1-11, as we look at what is the ultimate source of joy.
Common Ground Fellowship meets on Sundays, at Margaritaville in West Ajijic at 11 a.m. We have a blended and bilingual service, and focus on service to our community. Join us this Sunday.

Unitarian Universalists
Rev. Matt Alspaugh will present “Changing and Unchanging Faith” at the next meeting of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Sunday, March 9, noon.
Do Unitarian Universalists have faith? Many of us struggle with the idea of faith. I cannot speak for all UUs, but for myself, if faith is something certain and unchanging, then I am one of little or no faith. But if my faith can change, if I can have faith in things unknown to me, then yes, I am full of faith, I’m faithful. We’ll explore the complexities of faith in the UU world, and what faith might look like for many of us.
Annie Morris will be the service associate.
