Eckankar
Everything revolves around love. It always does. No matter how much we rush about in this world and how harried, ambitious, or sorrowful we become, the world stays together for some reason. The reason is God’s love. It makes the whole work, even though sometimes it looks like nothing is working at all.
The two supreme laws are: God is love, and Soul exists because God loves it.
But how do you make this work out in everyday life? Whenever you’re in doubt about any action, ask yourself: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it Kind? You can also ask, What would love do?
Everyone has some experience with love—even a child who has a pet kitten or a dog. Soul is trying, to give back or respond to God’s love that’s coming through. (The above text is from Spiritual Wisdom on Relationships by Harold Klemp.)
Meet with other like-minded Souls for open non-denominational spiritual discussions Tuesdays, 2 to 3:15 p.m. at the Lake Chapala Society.
Heritage Baptist Church
Abel, Enoch, and Abraham are celebrated in Hebrews 11, the chapter of faith. They all believed and were looked upon with great favor by God.
The believers’ perseverance is strengthened as we draw close to God. It’s fueled by an unwavering conviction that God is real and the Bible is not a lie. True Christians look forward to the promises of God. We believe in them and we long for them to come to fruition.
The word of God still speaks today, alive and life-giving. The holy spirit of Jesus’ presence in our hearts is our reward for persevering in faith. So we continue to walk closer to Him, know Him better, abide in Him. And God is not ashamed to be called our God.
What beautiful communion and fellowship, to walk with God here on earth as though we were already in heaven! It’s a call every Christian receives. God brings us to faith, guides us, and helps us persevere, and we don’t go back, looking ever heavenward, sojourners in a foreign land and pilgrims grounded in the character of God.

Lake Chapala Baptist
Jesus’ betrayal by Judas was a tragic yet essential part of God’s sovereign plan for redemption.
Though it was an act of treachery, it fulfilled prophecy and led to the salvation of mankind. In the same way, believers will face betrayal. Jesus warned in John 15:18-20—just as the world rejected Him, it will reject His followers. However, God’s omnipotence assures that no betrayal, suffering, or opposition can derail His ultimate plan for us. Romans 8:28 reminds us that He works all things for the good of those who love Him. Even when we are in pain or despair, God remains in control, using trials to refine and strengthen His people. Just as Christ overcame betrayal and death through His resurrection, believers can trust in His victory. God’s sovereignty guarantees that no suffering is wasted, and in the end, His people will share in His triumph and eternal glory.
