Tickets went on sale this week for the GDL Open AKRON (presented by Santander), featuring the world’s best female tennis players, scheduled September 17 to 23 at the Pan American Tennis Center in Zapopan.

This Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) 1000 event is one the nine top-tier tournaments on the annual calendar, in addition to the four Grand Slams. Prize money for the tournament totals nearly US$2.8 million.

A major plus for attendees this year is that tickets will be valid for the entire day, not just for individual morning/afternoon or afternoon/evening sessions. This means that on certain days (September 17-20) spectators will be able to see as many as five singles matches in the main stadium, albeit over a time span of around nine to ten hours.
