Mexico has 45 days to stem the flow of Central American migrants – including many families seeking asylum in the United States – passing through this country or U.S. President Donald Trump is likely to reach for his stick once more.

Violence is an omnipresent danger for Mexican women. Six out of ten experience some form of it in their lifetime, the party Futuro Jalisco maintains. Between 1985 and 2016 more than  52,000 perished, an average of nine a day.

Futuro Jalisco is an emerging party aiming to change the status quo of Mexican politics. Less bureaucracy, increased governmental and institutional transparency, more support for citizen-led initiatives and open dialogue on all matters are some of its main goals.

Aside from mouth-watering food, the city of Puebla has much to offer: beautiful colonial buildings, a rich history, more charming churches concentrated in one area than you will encounter anywhere and plenty of museums to get lost in.

As the public is buffeted by fear, outrage, confusion, overload and boredom over the issue of immigration in the U.S. southwest, President Donald Trump’s latest moves – tariffs, aid cancellation, government and border shutdowns – bring puzzling aspects of his administration’s policies into clearer view.
