Lake Chapala Baptist

In the Bible, Jonah’s story shows God’s sovereign, redemptive hand in every detail. When Jonah fled, God intervened—not to punish, but to restore. A storm and a great fish preserved him; Nineveh’s repentance revealed God’s mercy for even the unlikely. Jonah’s anger met God’s gentle correction, exposing a heart still in need of transformation. The Ninevites, spiritually blind, were still within God’s compassionate reach. Through it all, we see a God who lovingly pursues, teaches, and restores. His mercy still calls today—inviting all, no matter how far they’ve run, to return, repent, and follow Him.

Lakeside Presbyterian

Sunday, July 13, the sermon will be “How to be Confident,” from Hebrews 1”1-13.

Discouragement. Who hasn’t—at some time or another—felt pulled toward the mire of self-pity and despair? Life’s problems can suck the emotional wind from our sails. When discouragement comes—the kind of discouragement that screams questions at the faith—we need encouragement and perspective; we need the community of faith; and we need help to stay committed. Hebrews was written to offer such help.

English language service begins at 10 a.m. at Constitución 26, in Ajijic, 2nd floor. Enter through the back garage area and walk upstairs.
