Metro-area air quality slumps

Jalisco’s Environmental Agency (Semadet) issued several Phase One air quality alerts in the Guadalajara metropolitan this week after two of the city’s ten monitoring stations registered pollution levels higher than 150 Imecas (Mexico’s standard for urban air quality measurements).


Governor slapped with new rights citation

The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) has issued a recommendation to the governor of Jalisco in the case of Giovanni López, the 29-year-old who died shortly after being detained by Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos police officers on May 4, 2020.

Tourist booths for Paseo Alcalde

Guadalajara City Hall is to install four tourist booths, and also grant concessions for 25 small puestos, at various points along the 22-block Paseo Alcalde pedestrian walkway in the city center, Mayor Pablo Lemus announced Thursday.
