Hard Travelin’

Don’t forget that New York performer Randy Noojin portrays singer, songwriter and activist Woody Guthrie in “Hard Travelin’  with Woody” at Club Exotica on Saturday, April 18, 7 p.m.  

Noojin comes to lakeside just off a 40-city tour of a show featuring legendary Woody Guthrie songs such as “This Train is Bound for Glory,” “This Land is Your Land” and many others.

Tickets priced at 200 pesos per person are on sale at Yoly’s Unisex Salon, Plaza Bugambilias, and Diane Pearl Colecciones, Colon 1 at Calle Ocampo.

Ajijic legacy artist Jesus Victoriano Lopez Vega will be the featured speaker at the Monday, April 6 meeting of the Ajijic Society of the Arts (ASA). During the meeting, which begins at 10 a.m. at La Bodega, Lopez Vega will share with the group his lifetime in art.

Cancelled Show

Mark Rome regrets to announce the cancellation of the Roslyn Kind concert scheduled for Saturday, March 7 in the Auditorio de la Ribera. Kind plans to return to Mexico in 2016 and looks forward to performing at Lake Chapala.

Writers & Readings

Area writers and poets will present readings of their work at another Squeaky Wheels session at La Rueda in San Juan Cosalá on Wednesday, March 4, 3:30 p.m. The advance program includes Bonnie Phillips presenting a 20-minute reading. Reading shorter pieces will be Sandy Olson, Larry Kolczak, Bill Frayer and Becky McGuigan. This program is subject to change by program day.
